3 Pre-Travel Precautions to Take for Peace of Mind

We plan vacations for a few reasons: adventure, romance, fun, and above all else, to relax and take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There’s just one problem. Preparing for a vacation and getting out the door can be extremely stressful! It’s not uncommon to be at the airport wondering if you turned the stove off or closed the garage door. It’s also not unusual to triple-check for your passport and documents or to wonder if maybe you missed an important travel requirement. Travel anxiety is no joke! That’s why we put together three pre-travel precautions to take that will bring you peace of mind.

If you’re new here, we’re Bublup, and we’re a free desktop and mobile app that helps you organize your stuff visually. Once you’ve quickly signed up for an account, you’ll be one step closer to your blissful getaway. Without further ado:

3 Pre-Travel Precautions To Take For Peace Of Mind

Take Photos Before You Leave The House

“Did I remember to turn the thermostat down?”

“Did I lock the door?”

“Did I turn off the iron?”

How many times have you asked yourself questions like these en route to your destination? If the answer is more than once, creating a “vacation ready” folder in Bublup will bring your stress levels down to zero.

Here’s how to do it.

Locate the blue + button and click “folder” to create a new folder. For example, you can title it “Vacation Ready” or “For Peace of Mind”. Next, click “save”.

Now we get to the fun part—Bublup’s in-app camera. You’ll see a camera icon in the top left corner of your mobile app. Tap the icon to open up the camera right within the Bublup app. Any photos or videos you take will instantly save to the folder.

Bublup’s in-app camera is the perfect way to capture everything that could potentially worry you later! For example:

  • Powered down appliances
  • Thermostat
  • Closed garage door

Once you’ve documented everything, you shouldn’t have to worry about them again. In case you do, simply pop back into your folder for irrefutable proof that you’re not going to burn the house down while you are away.

Compile All Of Your Important Documents

Travel can require quite a few documents these days. You might need your passport, proof of COVID vaccination, a passenger locator form, visa, and more. To ensure that you have everything you need, you can save all of your important documents and copies of important cards or your passport in a folder. The beauty of Bublup is that you can save any kind of media type to a folder. So whether you’re saving a JPEG, PDF, or web link, they can all live harmoniously together.

While you will probably have a lot of physical copies, it always brings peace of mind to have digital backups. And don’t worry, your content is safe and secure and for your eyes only! If you invite other people to your folder, then it’s for their eyes too. But more on that in a moment.

Pro tip: Use the checklist feature to make sure you have all of your physical copies before you leave the house!

Share Your Travel Details With A Trusted Contact

Share Your Travel Details With a Trusted Contact

It’s always smart to give your trip details to a friend or family member in case of an emergency. Consider making a folder that houses your trip itinerary and the details of where you will be staying.

It’s easy to share a folder with others. Just look for the “invite” icon in the top right corner and invite an existing user by username or email, or use an invitation link to invite them to join. You can invite someone to your whole folder or just individual subfolders if you don’t want them to see everything. Conclusion

Vacations are meant to be stress-free, so do what you can pre-trip to minimize any anxieties you might have. Take photos of your powered-down appliances, locked doors, and other security concerns and put them in a folder. Save all of your important digital documents and copies of the physical ones in a folder. Lastly, share your trip details with a trusted person in case of an emergency. Peace of mind is priceless!
